OK, here is the big test! Today is a fast from electronics from sunrise to 9:00 pm. Break your dependence and build your stamina by stretching your technology fast until evening. You can do it!
Day 27 | Saturday | NON-NEGOTIABLES
For many, the most challenging spiritual issue of the 21st century is not prayer, Bible study, or the like. It is taking back control of our time. If we cannot prioritize and manage our time, God becomes little more than a hobby.
Without non-negotiables fixed in our calendars, the urgent will disrupt and displace a rhythm of rest and celebration. There will always more pressing matters to attend to.
Establishing non-negotiables is about putting first things first—establishing priorities for each week that are not open to negotiation or discussion.
Without non-negotiables, there will always be something that seems important waiting to displace what matters to us most.
Exercise
Identify three personal non-negotiables (not work related) for the coming week and write them in your calendar. Don’t have a calendar? Then you know the first thing you need to do.
Extra Credit
Make some popcorn and watch the Social Dilemma (2020) on Netflix, a documentary-drama hybrid that explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations.
