Day 3 | Wednesday | DO, LOVE, WALK

Here’s an Old Testament discussion about what God desires from us. It’s simple, but not easy.

With what shall I come to the Lord
And bow myself before the God on high?
Shall I come to Him with burnt offerings,
With yearling calves?

Does the Lord take pleasure in thousands of rams,
In ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I give Him my firstborn for my wrongdoings,
The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

He has told you, mortal one, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?

—Micah 6:6-8

Do justice. Don’t just think about it.

Love kindness. As a way of being, not a simple act.

Walk humbly. This is a journey of dependence.

Do. Love. Walk.

Exercise

Do an act of justice today: Make a call, write an email, send a contribution, buy lunch for someone in need. Be a hands-on advocate for others. Today. Refuse to simply be a spectator.
